Instructions for installing Multiple Metatrader Platforms.

To download, install, and manage multiple instances of MetaTrader platforms—particularly if you wish to run the same Expert Advisor (EA) on one or multiple accounts simultaneously—please follow these steps:

1. Downloading MetaTrader

  1. Visit the OX Securities Website
    You can download MetaTrader directly from the OX Securities website.

  2. Choose the Version
    Select either MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5, depending on which platform your trading strategies are compatible with.

  3. Download the Installer
    Click on the appropriate download link for the version you have chosen (MT4 or MT5).

2. Installing Multiple Instances

To run multiple instances of MetaTrader on the same computer, you’ll need to install each instance in a separate directory:

  1. Run the Installer
    Open the installer file you downloaded from the OX Securities website.

  2. Choose a Unique Installation Path
    When prompted for the installation location, specify a unique directory for each instance of MetaTrader. For example:

    • C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 4 - Account 1
    • C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 4 - Account 2

    This ensures that each installation operates independently.

  3. Repeat the Installation
    Repeat the installation process for as many instances as you need, ensuring that each one is installed in a separate directory.

3. Setting Up Expert Advisors (EAs)

Once your installations are complete, you can set up the same or different EAs across multiple instances:

  1. Copy EA Files
    For each MetaTrader instance, copy the EA files into the appropriate Experts folder within that installation directory. The path should look something like this:
    C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 4 - Account 1\MQL4\Experts

  2. Launch MetaTrader
    Open each instance of MetaTrader to configure your EAs.

  3. Activate the EA
    In MetaTrader, go to the Navigator window, right-click on Expert Advisors, and select Refresh. Your EA should now appear in the list. Drag the EA to the desired chart.

  4. Configure the EA
    Set up your EA according to the specific account and trading strategy requirements for each instance.

4. Tips for Running Multiple MetaTrader Platforms

  • Sufficient Resources: Ensure your computer has enough RAM and CPU capacity to handle multiple instances of MetaTrader without performance issues.

  • Regular Updates: Keep each MetaTrader installation up to date to maintain compatibility with trading servers and ensure security.

  • Backups: Regularly back up your EAs, settings, and profiles to avoid any data loss.

By following these steps, you can effectively manage multiple MetaTrader installations and run the same or different Expert Advisors across various accounts simultaneously.
