If you receive an "Old Version" error message, please follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Run MetaTrader as Administrator

Right-click the MetaTrader icon on your desktop.

Select the Run as Administrator option. This should prompt the program to install the most recent version automatically when launched on an online device.
2. If Running as Administrator Doesn’t Work
If launching the platform as an administrator does not prompt an update, proceed with the following steps:
Make a Backup of Your Settings

Open MetaTrader.
-
Navigate to File in the upper left-hand corner and select Open Data Folder.

Copy the following folders to your desktop:
-
Profiles
-
Templates
-
Indicators & Experts located in the MQL4 folder.
-
Uninstall the MetaTrader Platform
-
Go to your Control Panel and select Add or Remove Programs.

Locate the MetaTrader program and select Uninstall to remove it from your computer.
Restart Your Computer
After uninstalling the platform, restart your computer.
Install the Latest Version of MetaTrader

Download the latest version of MT4 from the following link: MT4 Download Page

Download the latest version of MT5 from the following link: MT5 Download Page
Restore Your Settings
Once the latest version is installed, restore your previously backed-up folders:

Open MetaTrader and navigate to File > Open Data Folder.

Copy the previously backed-up folders (profiles, templates, Indicators, and Experts) into the appropriate locations within the Data Folder:

Place the Indicators and Experts folders into the MQL4 folder.

Finalize and Reopen MetaTrader
-
Close MetaTrader and then reopen it. Your restored settings should now be available on the platform.
