In MetaTrader, both templates and profiles are tools to customize and save chart settings, but they serve different purposes:
-
Templates: A template is used to save the configuration of a single chart. It stores settings such as indicators, chart types, and colors. You can apply the same template to multiple charts to keep them consistent in appearance and settings.
-
Profiles: A profile, on the other hand, saves the layout of your entire workspace, including multiple charts, their arrangement, and the template applied to each. Switching profiles allows you to quickly change between different trading setups, such as a profile for forex trading and another for commodities, without having to individually configure each chart again.
In short, templates customize individual charts, while profiles save the entire workspace layout.
